NFL (since 2016)
"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
I've rebooted the league so first cone first serve for who gets in. If you're already in please WHOmail me your team name. If you'd like to join then WHOmail me and i can save you a space. Depending on demand we could increase the number of teams in the league.

"The Honey Badger coming back to Louisiana. Pretty mean and stacked secondary for the Saints this year. Different DNA under Allen certainly, Winston just needs to convince me on the other side if the ball and Thomas needs stay healthy."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Smoke Monday is one of the best names in the NFL for a while. It's a shame the Jets didn't take him undrafted, because we could have teamed him up in the backfield with Sauce. The Jets' moves aside, that was a really deep draft this year and quite a few sides added a lot of depth to their roster. Ravens, Eagles, Chiefs, Vikings, Packers etc. Even the Cowgirls drafted quite well - and they traditionally overspend/commit on riskier signings. Early days, of course, and there may still be some big moves ahead of the season (Deebo etc). But looking at it very early, the Ravens and Chiefs are going to be very strong again next term. Two coaches who know how to build sides and they drafted that way. The Ravens got an absolute steal in Hamilton at safety. He was certainly one of the ten best players in the draft - arguably top five material - and they got him at #14 because it's rare to take a safety so high. Then they followed it up with the best centre in the draft, in my view. He's a nailed on starter for them and will help to protect Jackson. Reid's problem last season was that the Chiefs were too easy to pass against (for a team that wanted to win the whole thing) - and he went out and addressed that with two first rounders, including a solid cornerback. Then, as a Brucie Bonus, they landed a better-than-expected WR to help replace Tyreek. Hill remains a big hole to fill, but they took good steps towards that. Surely the Hawks now have to take a punt on Baker Mayfield?"

"Jets had a great draft, AFC East could be interesting this year. Agreed, TM, reckon Hawks must be thinking of a QB from next year's class and putting the building blocks in this year. Still got Rd1 and Rd 2 picks from Broncos in 2023."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"SB, your GM nailed the draft. Getting Johnson that late was a masterstroke, Breece Hall is a great running back which will now allow Carter to do more of the later down stuff he did in Carolina and the only reason Ruckert went as late as he did, was because he was playing alongside the Ohio State receivers I didn't miss a NC game in 2020 when Howell had all his weapons (Carter, Wiliams, Brown, Newsome), and if he'd entered last year's draft would have been a top twenty pick. No idea why so many teams ignored him, but who gives shit now. He now has time to to develop behind Wentz and won't be rushed in to the main job"

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Jets finished the lower rounds with something more like a ""traditional""ù draft for us - including a tight end we probably don't need (although he's a huge Jets fan) and a TWICE convicted felon! But, regardless, we had a very fine draft and added some serious talent to a poor roster. The Jets are still some way off being a play-off side, because most of the talent is young. We're going to be a bit like an under-21 side in the premier league. But if Saleh doesn't win at least seven games next season, he will start to become the problem. He'll be beyond the ""excuses""ù phase, after his GM delivered a talent-heavy draft for the second year. TM - Howell is a good player for a 5th rounder, isn't he? In previous years, when the league was awash with its usual QB inflation, he'd go two rounds above that. This year, the opposite happened: many of the so-called experts decided the QB class was relatively poor (which it probably is), but it meant the few guys with decent talent stayed on the board for longer. I think you got a bargain."

"Nice one, TM, you got your pick with Howell. Hawks have drafted pretty well - except for steering clear of a QB when we've had ready picks and little risk. Guess it's either the Drew Lock/Geno Smith show or we're back looking at Baker Mayfield?"

"to a certain extent, the fan channels create hype about certain names over many weeks (some channels copying other channels info) and it's done to such an extent that it causes hysteria income of these names get picked. I watch most of these channels, but I also listen to the pro analysts and sites like the draft network. personally, if rather have had Trey McBride or one of the LBs but the decision was made, get the fuck on with it üòÅ"

"yet more meltdowns from a big percentage of the commanders fanbase. I've no doubt there were better players available, but the coach wanted a DT and drafted one of the Alabama captains. I don't think Saban hands out those roles to wastes of space/bums but clearly the thick part of the fanbase knows better. we also signed another Alabama bum, in running back Brian Robinson (2021 - 1600 total yards from scrimmage and 16 TDs!. I expect a further five nervous breakdowns at the end of tonight üòÇ"

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Feckin' hell - Jets having a stormer. Traded up in round 2 to take the best dual-threat running back in the draft. Now have Breece Hall and Carter at RB, a decent O-line and two good young receivers in Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore. They're going all in on offensive weapons. Zach Wilson will have no excuses if this fails over the next few years. He's surrounded by talent. They're all young - drafted in 2021 and 2022. So it'll take a while. But Douglas and Saleh have put some potentially big building blocks in place. Best draft we've had since the early 2000s, when we got extra picks because of Bill Napkin."
