NFL (since 2016)
"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
My other fantasy league had the closest result I've ever seen: 88.44 versus 88.40. Every yard literally did count!

"FMOB, Patriots in the cellar, is Belichick still there? Vikes moving up, Lions still top"
Re: NFL (since 2016)
"The Jets were awful last night , Wilson just isn't comfortable in a pocket . I wonder what Rodgers thinks looking on ."
Re: NFL (since 2016)
"'More like two tramps fighting over the last dregs of meths in a Kwik Save car park.' ag ag ag Proper made me chuckle that especially as it's spot on. Maybe it was the weather, injuries etc but there was literally nothing to the game till the last minute. I think even with Rogers we'd probably be chuffed to be 4-3 now, maybe 5-2 at a push."

"defjam 1:26 Mon Oct 30 Re: NFL (since 2016) Def, It was a woeful game, wasn't it?! It didn't feel like a prestige match-up between the two professional sides from America's biggest city. More like two tramps fighting over the last dregs of meths in a Kwik Save car park. But somehow we're now 4-3 even during this dumpster fire of a season. I'll take it. Zach Wilson seems to have grown up in one respect - he's prepared to take some pain in order to be the team's QB. He still can't really throw well and his decision-making, and check-downs, are just plain awful. But the running game is working and the kickers (including the punter) have been superb - regularly putting teams inside their own 10 yard line at the start of drives. The O-Line is bashed up, though. At some point, a defense is going to rip the QB in half!"

"zeb, they were both in their final year so only one had a chance to get paid, and after handing DT darron payne a massive extension in the spring so it wasn't unexpected but the positivity of the new owner's arrival has quickly disappeared. we now have a dead man walking in rivera, and the remaining nine games looking like a non event. this may not be the last, captain johnathan allen may also be moved on. that may be a stretch given his contract, but I think anything is possible at the moment"

Takashi Miike 10:31 Tue Oct 31 On the face of it absolutely baffling as your defence are good. Having said that I have no idea what the contract situations are with those two but betting on Washington's front office to do the business in the draft is a stretch.

"of course so much hinges on injuries, but I really like the look of the Ravens, I think they can go close. rebuild time in Washington, I think the whole coaching staff goes at the end of the year, a new GM and potentially trading at least two of our d-line"

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Do they do one with sequins for Ball? Touch to call this year (so the Seahawks shout may not be as absurd as it might sound) as there appears to be precisely zero good teams. Eagles have the best record in the league, but no one who watches them every week would tell you they're playing well, or anywhere near the levels of last year. Also heading into a brutal schedule of Cowboys, Chiefs, Bills, 9ers, Cowboys, Seahawks with a QB on one leg. Chiefs have stuttered all year, Bills aren't as good as last year, Cowboys are hot and cold, and the 9ers - well, the silence on here for 3 weeks tells you everything. A lot to say for themselves prior."

"zebthecat 3:34 Mon Oct 30 I will choose to interpret that as you feel I'm not get carried away""¶ I'm out there with On The Ball for the game after next v The Commanders. It's the Tribute to Service game, and, well, for everything good we've done wit the Throwback, this years TTS is honking. Some of those big guys will look like Jaba the Hutt in that. Will I be buying it from the pro shop? Of course"

"Joe C 1:18 Mon Oct 30 I agree with your second sentence completely, your first sentence somewhat less so. FIns 6-2 for the first time in years and sweeping the Patriots again. I watched end of the Jets/GIants game. Brilliant stuff and Greg the leg was never going to miss."
Re: NFL (since 2016)
"southbankbornnbred 12:42 - That was a tough watch last night, even on my 99p for a week of DAZN offer! But Zach Wilson came up with the goods the last few plays, decent throws and decisons, also good spot re: players. We're getting there."
Re: NFL (since 2016)
The Lions taking an absolute shellacking from the Ravens. The Washington/Giants game is ugly as hell and has descended into who is the least worst QB and O-line. The Browns pass rush is ludicrous.

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Grump - Saleh's defense is now really working well, and feels very similar to when he was DC in San Francisco. He and Joe Douglas have slowly put the pieces of that jigsaw together over three seasons. It's a play-off calibre defense, but unfortunately we don't have a (fit) QB to guide an offense (especially one with a heavily battered O-line). In the absence of Rodgers, I'll take more efforts from Zach Wilson like last night. He finally showed some bollocks and got a bit of a battering in the process. Protecting the ball is part of the QB's game. I notice that his team-mates (who think he's a prima dona) gathered around him at the end. Bodes well."

"Sorry Grump - you're right! ""Beating them at their own game"" suddenly turned into ""in their own back yard""! We don't win that often against good sides - I'm still D-Mob..."
Re: NFL (since 2016)
"No teams left unbeaten then. We should still be with the rookie missing a fairly easy field goal, though if it wasn't for the extremely dodgy officials continually giving very suspect decisions to the Brown's on their last drive, wouldn't have come to that anyway."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"The win last night was all about the Jets' excellent defense. To do that to Philly in their own back yard was a superb effort. Zach Wilson remains a problem. He makes very odd decisions - including, three times last night, calling a roll left (taking the TEs that way) and then bootlegging to his blind right side where he had no receivers and just ran into an Eagles CB or safety for a loss. BUT, in all fairness to Zach, we did see a tiny bit of progress last night. While he's still makes poor reads, he finally put his body on the line - often taking a hit for the team when, in previous games, he would throw the ball away (often for an interception) when he was about to be sacked. Last night, he just took the lost yardage and some bruising. But kept the ball for his (good) kicker. It's not exactly progress with his throwing, but it shows a change of character and that he's trying to be in the physical battle with his team-mates. More of that from him. His team-mates will respect him more for it."

"Fucking great win, that, against a very good Eagles side! Proper Jets football, with the defense leading the way. Ave it!"
