Re: Moyes Out
"TM - totally agree. However, us fans have to take at least a tiny bit of responsibility for some of that. In the past, we've all been quick to dismiss managers like Emery - those who failed at a big job when given a (relatively short, time-wise) chance in the Premier League. I can recall quite a few people on here trashing Emery after he failed to galvanise Arsenal. Several banging on about how he was only good for Spanish leagues etc. He's a good coach, and certainly a lot more progressive and up-to-date (tactically) than Moyes. IF the board finally decide to ditch Moyes (they do seem uniquely protective of him, despite a mostly awful 2022), then everybody (including some fans) need to be a bit more open-minded about the kind of coach who comes in. It's high time we appointed a manager who is genuinely regarded as a bit of a progressive and who makes a point of staying up to speed with tactical changes across the game. Moyes' tactics worked for us when teams were not familiar with them - but he has become extremely predictable and easy to counter. He has one way of playing and it is failing miserably right now. He feels like a 20th Century coach in the 21st Century. Looking beyond him, we have to be more progressive and seek to find a manager who is on top of current (and most likely future) tactical changes. That has become so important in an era of football where every minute detail is over-analysed by data teams etc. Tactics and formations are now every bit as important as the quality of your players - which is why some sides (with arguably 'lesser' players) are doing far better than us."

Re: Moyes Out
I hope I'm wrong. It's very frustrating when you see teams like Villa attract quality coaches like Emery yet our lot are putting out quotes saying Moyes would still be the type of manager they'd look for if hiring a new man. It's beyond bizarre and not remotely believable
Re: Moyes Out
"I'm not sure you are right TM. At least I hope you're not right. Mind you, I wouldn't say no to Noble and Warburton. I think we're all desperate to see the end of Moyes because he clearly lost the plot ages ago. In summer the choices are greater but GSBK's investment would suffer badly if we went down. It wouldn't do much for their reputations as being incompetent twats any good either..."

Re: Moyes Out
"the reason I think they'll do what I said is there's a possibility if that happens that most of the coaches stay on and it's just moyes they pay off. I think the whole lot need to go but the way they operate, you can see a makeshift appointment being made"
Re: Moyes Out
"It wouldn't surprise me if that was the case with these cunts in charge but it beggars belief they'd do that again. You'd think the Rice situation would make em act. They know he's going no matter what, as a premiership club we'll sell upwards of 80m, that halved at best if we go down."

"I really hope you lot are right. I think it's a pretty good time to change manager with a Sport Director just starting. If he's up to the job, then the next manager chosen should shape us for years to come. It's so painful to watch us at the moment, respectfully as you're trying to find 3 teams worse than us at the moment."

Re: Moyes Out
"""I think he stays at least until we're sold now"" I disagree, and the recent spin they've put about it being a full board decision to stick by him tells me that the dwarf cսnt is feeling the heat as the attention turns away from moyes and on to them. I don't expect any decent manager stepping in though, it'll be either warburton or the yes man, noble on the cheap"

Re: Moyes Out
"Quite a few of us said how negligent he was in January, and it's come back to bite us big time. Loads stuck up for him.. Same as the summer before when we didn't buy a striker.. Can't get anyone as good as Antonio January is a bad time to buy In Moyes we trust Yep this shit show was always on it's way. Then he started this season with all those new players saying it was like when he first joined and has to start again and concentrate on keeping it tight and not losing games as he did when joining us in a relegation battle.. I bet that inspired the squad and especially the new signings."
Re: Moyes Out
I don't see how they can't act if we lose to Leeds. This can't continue. At least that will give the new manager a bit of time before the next league game.

Re: Moyes Out
"I don't think we've got a squad anywhere near capable of playing Bielsa's game, which involves a lot of running on and off the ball. We'd need a total squad overhaul. Moyes should have gone before the world cup, that was the time to pull the plug. With hindsight I'd have fucked him off last January when I was pulling my hair out over his lack of action which we're paying the results for now. I think he stays at least until we're did now. He's looks a dead man walking though, and hopefully that doesn't mean we're a sleep walking out way into getting relegated. We just have to hope there's 3 teams shitter than us this season."

Re: Moyes Out
Spot on 13 Brentford Rd. Any directors worth their salt would have fired Moyes months ago. I believe they are holding out hoping it will change and they won't have to pay his contract up to June 2024...

Re: Moyes Out
"I was advocating for Bielsa even before he got the Leeds job. No brainer if you're talking about managers who are free agents at the moment. Obviously Tuchel & Pochetino are on that list. Any of them would be a massive step up from the Dinosaur, though Pochetino has apparently ruled himself out due to his Spurs links. We must be the only circus that gives a manager another month after a year of dismal results and performances where it's so obvious that his time is up."

I agree with many... The Spivs will continue to gamble on Moyes... Hopefully 3 worse teams at the end of the season...

"we are in a situation where the standard ""safe"" option of dour, conservative pragmatism is going to see us relegated. bielsa would keep us up just on physical conditioning, though an extra 6 weeks to do it would've made that certain."

Re: Moyes Out
"Losing those players you have mentioned Charoo wouldn't be the end of the world at all. Especially under a manager like Bielsa who would definitely build a team around a player like Paqueta in his right position, probably bring out the best in Scamacca and I reckon he would convince Ashby to stay and give him the chance to make the RB spot his own."
