Re: Moyes Out
"It amazes me that besides all of us, every commentator and pundit sees the flaw/weakness in our passive way of playing and it's mentioned EVERY televised game. EVERYONE can see it and the effect it has on how our games go. For the life of me I don't know why he persists with it."

Re: Moyes Out
"If he stays, I'm binning it off next season. I ain't weighing out to watch another year of that shit, fuck that."
Re: Moyes Out
"I watched on BT Sport last night and in commentary, they queried why WH were letting AZ pass the ball around their defenders without us going into press them. They assumed rightly that it was Moyes game plan not to get drawn into allowing their attackers space. That's the Moyes way not the West Ham Way..."

Re: Moyes Out
"El Scorchio 11:38 Fri May 12 Agreed. We were at home, full house, crowd up for it and he sets out like that. Unnecessarily passive, showed way too much respect to AZ, didn't take the game to them and pretty much sucked the life out of any sort of atmosphere in that first half and early second half by going with that approach. Glad we got the result, but Moyes approach meant that it was a lot harder work than it actually needed to be."

Re: Moyes Out
"Willtell 12:03 Fri May 12 Yep. Spot on. It's a semi-final and a win so it will mask a whole host of failings, especially in that first half. But according to Talksport and Tony Cottee, we are just West Ham so we should shut our mouths and put up with it."
Re: Moyes Out
I agree with El Scorchio. Last night showed how naïve Moyes is tactically. Standing off an inferior side and letting them pass it around while frustrating our fans and them getting confidence from the possession showed why after 10000 games Moyes has won sweet FA.

Re: Moyes Out
"I love TC but he did make a bit of a tit of himself on Talksport this morning. Alan Brazil said to him he can't work out why there's still talk of the fans wanting Moyes gone even if we win the ECL. TC said he was in the lounge after the game and heard it being discussed and it is weird. He said this season was a normal season for West Ham and it could be our first trophy since 1980. So Moyes must stay if he wins it. But he then went on to say ""I know fans look at how bad we've played at times this year, and the tactics and negative football, questionable substitutions. And the massive spend in summer only to be in a relegation battle, but......"" I mean, seriously? These pundits do talk shite at times. So just because relegation is a normal season for West Ham, TC expects us to just put up and shut up. And as for the rest. well, it almost sounded a bit like the ""What have the Roman's done for us...."" ""Right - David Moyes has to stay. And anyone saying different is a splitter. I mean, look what he's done for us."" ""Yeah, but, he can't integrate players...."" ""Well, ok, he can't integrate players but he stays"" ""He doesn't ever make the right subs"" ""Well ok, he can't integrate players or make the right subs."" ""Can't coach strikers either..."" ""For fuck sake, ok, he he can't integrate players or make the right subs. And he can't coach strikers either..."" ""Plays negative football"" And so on and so on and so on."

"I see that it's emerged that Marco Silva has a £6 million release fee in his Fulham contract, so is basically kind of available, assume this is where the link has come from."

Re: Moyes Out
"Last night was a prime example of why he has to go at the end of the season regardless of whether we win the UEL or not. Very poorly set out against an inferior side and allowed them far too much of a foothold. A bolder and better gameplan could have put them to the sword by 2-3 goals easily. As it was, this is still very much in the balance and we know he's going to be safety first away as well. We were lucky to get out of Genk with a draw."

Re: Moyes Out
"Nage, most of the time, I just can't be bothered to make the effort, because it's all pretty pointless really, and it's all stuff a nause like you should've been able to work out yourself. As for snide little digs, fucking hell, man up. If we're going to do pathetic tit for tat, you was the one who initially went tits out that someone dare suggest Silva as their preferred candidate. Anyway, as I've said, I'd be on board with Relegation Rodgers as well, anyone who's willing to get us playing good football. That's all I want after this season."
Re: Moyes Out
"Irons, that Watford job he got sacked because he lost the plot when Everton made an approach for him. They were in 8th place and he then got 5 points from the next 11 games before being sacked. Nothing to do with the Watford owners really. Everton ended up paying £4m compensation because of it."
Re: Moyes Out
"Don't agree with much of that, Eerie, but at least you made a bit of an effort for a change. Let's not pretend that I'm the one getting upset about people's preferences though, eh? You're the one who felt the need to pop up and make a snide little dig at me for daring to explain why I think Rodgers is a better candidate than Silva."

Re: Moyes Out
"Nagel 4:39 Wed May 10 Rather a manager that was middling in the past and looked better recently rather than a number we have had that were the other way around. Also one of the jobs in there was Watford who have just appointed, I think, their 19th manager in 10 years. I believe they fire them if they don't say Salute! when someone sneezes."
Re: Moyes Out
"You're right Eerie. The next manager needs to have evidence of playing decent football. Arguing for particular managers is kind of pointless. Let's not forget that Sullivan has a history of feeding rumours of exciting new signings that never happen as soon as season ticket sales season starts""¶."

Re: Moyes Out
"I'm not particularly bothered to ARGUE a case Bage, just think it's funny that you want to cherry pick things that suit you, you won't give context to anything that doesn't suit your narrative. Rodgers looks like being the mastermind of relegating the most talented squad since West Ham under Roeder, you'll find context for that though. That's his most recent job. 2016/17: Relegated - It was Hull, he took them over when they were practically down, and nearly produced a miracle to keep them up playing proper good football, falling just short 2017/18: Sacked in January - because of the Everton situation 2018/19: Finished 8th (same place as Allardyce the season before) - yeah? 2019/20: Sacked in December - not ideal, but a basket case of a club as we've seen 2020/21: Unemployed 2021/22: Promoted - as champions, scoring over 100 goals 2022/23: Mid table - after being everyone's absolute favourites for relegation All the above done mostly playing a brand of football that's right up my street. You can pick your own bones out of anything if it suits your agenda, and you may well be right, but stop pretending you're some sort of oracle by picking out a run of games from 5 years ago or whatever. I'd take Rodgers, I understand why you'd want him, he just wouldn't be my first choice, but that doesn't have to upset you, son."
Re: Moyes Out
"OK, seems a bit weak that you can't actually argue any kind of case for your 1st choice beyond that, but par for the course I guess."

Re: Moyes Out
"You're arguing yourself into the ground, Bagel son. They've all got flaws, that's our level, so it just comes down to preferred choice. I haven't compared their records, I'd be happy with Rodgers, I'd just prefer Silva. I'd be happy with half a season Carrick, I'd prefer Silva. You're picking and choosing where to dig holes. Silva's record over the last 2 seasons is fantastic son, don't let it eat you up"
Re: Moyes Out
"Yeah, Carrick's only had one good season: scoring 64 in his 29 games and taking his club from 21st in late October to 4th at the end. I'd say doing that at a club who've been out of the top flight for 7 years is a greater achievement than getting a just relegated team promoted again the following season. Anyway, they both had great seasons in the Championship, but look at how Silva has done the rest of his career: 2016/17: Relegated 2017/18: Sacked in January 2018/19: Finished 8th (same place as Allardyce the season before) 2019/20: Sacked in December 2020/21: Unemployed 2021/22: Promoted 2022/23: Mid table Don't make great reading, does it? You can't tell me that compares with Rodgers' CV on any level. It's always a risk going for a manager like Carrick who hasn't got much experience, but if the alternative is one whose CV is mediocre at best then maybe it's worth taking a chance."

Re: Moyes Out
"Hahaha! Foolish? The man's team scored over 100 goals while winning the Championship last season, and you want half a season Carrick ahead of him? That's decent, son. For the record, I'd have Carrick, Rodgers, no problem. Anyone that wants to play good, attacking football. Everyone's record who we go after can be pulled apart, including Brendan Brent."
Re: Moyes Out
Oh dear. Someone's upset that their longing for Marco Silva was made to look foolish. Dry your eyes mate.
