NFL (since 2016)
"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
A few sides gaining momentum at a crucial time - including the Vikes and Washington.
Still hard to look past the Chiefs, Bills or Lions. But the play-offs are shaping up nicely.
That kid Daniels at TM’s mob is a cracking player. He’s got the intangibles that drag victories out of nowhere. They probably won’t win it, but it certainly looks like the Commanders have found their franchise QB.

Watched the Lions game , it was a good watch . As a suffering Jets fan I can sit back and be pretty neutral watching games . Same with the Hammers I guess , just remain neutral and enjoy the game , unless it’s Tottenham. Lions have a fair few injuries though ?

Lions and the Chiefs are both impressive but no team has a better win streak than the Vikings currently at nine.
Vikes meet the Lions in Detroit next Monday for the Black and Blue division title.
SKOL VIKES!

Re: NFL (since 2016)
Next season, I want two massive “don’t fuck with us” bookend tackles or guards - or a centre - from the draft, and for the Jets to start running the ball again alongside this kid Travis at QB. A veteran back-up QB in case it doesn’t work out. And go for a QB1 in 2026 if necessary.
But it’s time to move on from Rodgers.

He was a superb QB for many years - one of the best ever. But he’s in severe decline just as his ego has blown the roof off.

I'd love to have seen him play for the 49ers at some point in career. Obviously not now though!

Re: NFL (since 2016)
He’s declining in quality (albeit from a high benchmark at Green Bay), injury prone and - more than anything else - a terrible distraction and circus for the club.
He’s been the graveyard of two head coaches, a general manager and his mate at OC. It’s time this whole shitshow ended.
Of course others are also to blame for the continued debacle in New York. None more than Woody Johnson. But just at the tipping point when Joe Douglas and Rob Saleh could have gone either way (in terms of success with the Jets: they had briefly built a decent defense, at least), Johnson insisted on going all in on Rodgers - and it brought the whole house down (not enough cap space or draft picks to build an o-line, took Saleh’s attention away from the defense etc).
I won’t miss him at all.
Re: NFL (since 2016)
Yeah - I’ve got a lot of respect for Burrow. Suspect if we do get through we’ll go out in the first round. I remember getting that sinking feeling when it was away vs. Bills in the snow.
I’ve started watching the Madden game documentary, pretty good stuff so far - funny watching the players reaction to how they’ve been scored. What an industry to work in when one of the jobs is a score evaluator

Re: NFL (since 2016)
I am beginning to hope.
We need to beat the Jets and the Chiefs to do us a favour.
Having said that it would be travesty if we make the play-offs and Joe burrow doesn't.
I wonder what Aaron Rogers.Madden score will be next time around?

Re: NFL (since 2016)
I’ve been hoping that the loss of Tua for a run games didn’t cost us. Play offs looked out of reach for the Dolphins a few weeks back, still not too likely but in with a chance going into the last game - wasn’t expecting that.

Shorty’s going to go nuts!South. I’m beyond nuts. First the bending over for Liverpool. Then this.! These are the types of days where you question your own logic in following organise sports. Is it for fun. Loyalty. Or the perverse feeling of being alive. Only when you’re team are only making you miserable.? “Pain is so close too pleasure.” Doesn’t even start to cover it.
Either way. There couldn’t have been a couple of games that have summed up 2024 than West Ham and the New York Giants yesterday. Top too bottom. What a mess. And what a joke.!
GO G MEN.
I hear that, Shorty. That’s EXACTLY how I feel every year with West Ham and the Jets. I still wouldn’t have it any other way, though.
Keep the faith, fella.

Yup. Can’t even fucking tank properly. You just know this utterly pointless benefitless win will cost a quarterback.
