Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

I'm quite looking forward to the new season now.

Proper unknown innit. I hate the chairman, don't rate the manager, and think our defence and central midfield is diabolical.

But I'm proper West Ham, so let's fucking have it.

Kudus to Spurs.
Do I blame him? No, Sullivan has hawked him around like lucky heather. I feel a bit sorry for him having his "value" debated by the likes of Sullivan and Levy, I am sure he will want a good wash after the dust settles.
Do I believe he is all of the rubbish thrown at him through the usual mouthpieces? Absolutely not. This board always goes into overdrive to paint the players that leave, or may leave in a less than flattering light. In Kudus and Rice's case even if they wanted to stay Sullivan made their positions untenable.
Do I believe our owners got best value? Definitely not. I suspect that Levy threw in the lube for the rogering he gave them.
So a hypothetical situation in comes to mind:
Do I believe that the bulk of the Kudus money will offset the latest "£40m" black hole coming down the road as put out there by Whetstone? Absolutely.
So if Kudus goes for, say £55m, that leaves £15m which will probably be spread over a period, likely 3 years. This year probably about £3.75m on the 75% rule imposed by the club.
Is that enough for the down payment on a World Class player?
I have no ill will towards Kudus but won't wish him well at Tottenham.

I must admit I'm not well versed in transfer dealings, but why is he going for £30m less than the release clause?

It wouldn’t be as awful if you could see them starting over with a clear strategy in the vein of Brighton, taking a couple of years to bed it in and coming back stronger, but they won’t. Sullivan is incapable of it. It’ll be bumbling along year to year with patchwork random signings of his choosing, undermining the strategy and aims of whoever is sitting in the dugout.

How on earth have the other shareholders not had enough of this or seen this coming?

Lets now see if we are going to spend any of this cash and sign anyone or are going to be spun some BS cock n bull about being skint and this money was to "save" us from FFP breaches or other such nonsense.

Well, it was funny yesterday, as my mate said "At least we now have another £55m to spend on players". Then it came out that we owe Barclays Bank £40m for a short term loan taken out two season ago. So I replied "It looks like we only have £15m" and then it came out that Levy is paying us over three year instalments. So I replied "Make that fuck all to spend on players".

I mean, if a transfer ever told you how badly Sullivan has run this club and how detached from the fans he is, then this is it.

Yes, you can argue that Kudus has been poor for a year and has a bad attitude... But, bottom line, we are selling off our top players to those cunts to pay debts.

I said it at the start of the window. We are getting relegated. Sullivan's continual cycle of incompetence year after year will finally come home to roost. The little cսnt has got away with it in previous years but I think the hole has been dug too deep now. And to top it all off, look what's happened during the window - Only players out, no ins. They release that turgid, boring kit and then we sell Kudus to the cunts. I mean, I have known it bad at West Ham under Sullivan and before him.... But this is different level. The apathy I am seeing and hearing from hardcore West Ham is worrying. Looks like Sullivan may have beaten us. It's such a shame.

And once Sunderland tear us apart in the first game of the season it will be downhill form there.

Can't wait for this season to start. Jesus wept.
I genuinely want him to just drop dead, I’d be so happy if news came out that he’d died
I couldn’t care less if that makes me a bad person

It very much feels like Leicester’s relegation season when they sold Schmeichel and others and only one average player came in.

The fee is very disappointing. If you’re going to sell the silver at least get a decent fucking price for it. Don’t give it away. We all know how talented he is and how good he can be when he wants to. Sullivan has let himself be well and truly arse raped on this one. To add yes he did say we wouldn’t deal with Spurs.

Shows how desperate he was to pay off this loan I guess that he was willing to be held to ransom. Absolute shambles how the finances of this club are run. Embarrassing stuff that we found ourselves in this position. Just highlights how fucked his transfer policy is and where it’s taken us.

I can understand selling Kudus if it’s tactically for a premium and to build the squad for the next five years with three young players we sorely need coming in to form the backbone of a new team a la Liverpool retooling their midfield the other year, but not  for under market value by begging teams to take him to pay off a debt and leave an already weak squad even weaker.

All I can say is players had better start arriving now after all this.

I actually couldn't give a flying fuck if we get relegated but don't think we will.

I bought my tickets at 4.59pm deadline day and was full of regret and self loathing at 5pm 😉

Found this, from 2017, an interview with Steinberg.  I reckon that's the last time the toad was interviewed properly by the press.

When was the last time Sullivan was interviewed by a proper journalist?

I reckon it's been over 10 years, when the club was moving grounds, since anyone has questioned him properly over the running of the club.

Dejan Kulesevski and Brennan Johnson both play on the right and given that they were also interested in Mbuemo it's obviously an area they wanted to reinforce.

I've had a few messages from Spurs mates who are, to a.man, underwhelmed... probably basing their views on Kudus on the away game last year when he was - even by his mediocre 2024-25 standards - fucking toilet even before the red card (despite scoring)

Not sure what Frank is going to do with him but doesn’t Kulusevski play on the right?
Not as flashy but a very consistent effective player
More tears and sulking from Kudus the Kunt?

We are in great need of youngsters like Earthy & Potts stepping up as first team possibilities
The crucial one could be Guilherme on the left. Time for him to emerge especially as Somerville won’t be available for a couple of months at least

Didn't we pay 38 million for him? Before he showed he could be competitive in this league?. Don't think we'll replace him for that and what the fuck can you buy with an extra 17 million these days?

That's 8 first team players out the door. Even if we replaced them, which we won't, the team would still be a shambles trying to integrate that many. The preseason should be interesting in three weeks time. Better hope we don't get many injuries this year.

So glad I don’t pay Sullivan anything…

Kudus being a cսnt all season to engineer this deal…

Didn’t put the effort in at all…

And Potter shares a lot of the blame too…

55 million over 3 years is pathetic…

Forget the petition, that's a waste of time. How many anonymous people signing an online petition would it take for you to sell your house for a fraction of what you think it's worth? There is no number, because you own it. Sullivan isn't Terry Brown, he's the Cearns in this relationship and whilst doing another Burnley would definitely help, online petitions won't do a thing. He's given his news so he won't even see it.

Another thing I just realised is Kudus is still only 24yo. The Club really are doing all they can to significantly lower the overall age of the Squad by their decision making..

Relative is a Spurs ST holder and very underwhelmed by the Kudus signing. Reckons that the new player will not come up to the levels of Kanoute, Carrick or Defoe. Thinks that Spurs well overpaid.
