Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

Still chuckling following Alfs’s comment last night about the referee of England v Sweden: “I never thought there would come the day when I'd like to shag the ref.”

I have to say I never thought there would come a day when West Ham would have three players with double barrelled names.

I don't normally like mentioning the death of other team players but RIP Wyn Davies the Newcastle legend who formed a deadly partnership with Pop Robson.

Known as the Mighty Wyn or Wyn the Leap.

Eerie Decent" wrote: 18 Jul 2025, 12:16 How many times have you seen that Martinez play, Russ?

I'm going to guess as many times as Sir Alf & eusebiovic.

I am a huge Deportivo La Coruña fan due to the fact I am also half-Spanish. I've watched a lot of their football over the years and I pretty much know in advance these days if I think a player from Spain will be able to easily adapt here or not. Maybe, Sullivan can employ me but that would mean getting value for money which he seems to be allergic to doing.

From what I've seen of the Arnau chap he always looks accomplished in what he does - good tackling, good passing and he has decent pace. More often than not he can cover the ground if caught on the counter attack which is a pretty important trait to have in the premiership.

He is not too shabby at all - not world class but slightly better than a bang average steady Eddie.

My tuppence worth.

We really need to sort our CB’s though, as that was the reason our defence let in so many goals. If Kilman continues to be a regular, nothing will change.

Kilman, Aguerd, Todibo & Mavropanos.

About £130mil worth of centre back there, and I'd sooner have Dawson than all 4.

We let in even more goals in the season before, when Kilman wasn't here. Can't blame it all on one player. The midfield have to take some responsibility as well as the CB's.

Just read he's scored 6 goals in 202 appearances for the Saints. Which probably means he can play up front for us as well- similar goals to games ratio as most of the strikers we seem to sign :)

We've signed far worse players than KWP, for a lot more money and wages.

Whether he's a squad player or first choice, its not going to make or break our season. I would have been  happier if we could have included JWP as part of the deal and freed up some of his wages.

No, it's not.

He"s the same agent as cole palmer and eze.
i think its decent business for a free, in a position that we need someone.
That Nick's a shit talker.

Either that or Sullivan is back doing what he always does and overruling his managers...
That's surely got to be the most logical thing to me, seeing as he does it all the fucking time.

Anyway, a lot of people seem delighted with this signing regardless if it's a SULLY SPECIAL or not.

Me too. I hope that it isn't that Potter doesn't rate KWP.. Mind you it could simply be that KWP wanted too much money at first. A lot of clubs were reported as interested so perhaps his demands were too much.

Either that or Sullivan is back doing what he always does and overruling his managers...

Allocation of transfer funds is most logical. Arnau Martinez would have been £10-15 million more. For a back up player. It's a non brainer.
