Athletics at London Stadium today
Once a year Diamond League event at London Stadium today
Tickets £25 to £149 with juniors from £5
One day a year of athletics which Sebastian Coe thought could pay for the upkeep of the stadium. Possibly after a head knock wrestling with William Hague
Presume the seating gets shifted back tomorrow at a cost of £8m to the taxpayer funded legacy company

Re: Athletics at London Stadium today
Does our lease agreement give us use of the stadium between Aug & May?
If not why not?

West Ham United may have to vacate the London Stadium temporarily if the 2029 World Athletics Championships are awarded to the city.

Re: Athletics at London Stadium today
It's really quite telling that, despite having a Premier League team as anchor tenant for most of the last 10 years, the owners still (STILL) haven't found a stadium sponsor.
Unless their deliberately making it too difficult by only wanting to select from a "carefully chosen", civil servant approved list of potential sponsors, there has to be something about the whole set-up that is dissuading every commercial organisation in the world from putting in a bid.

Re: Athletics at London Stadium today
Just ridiculous why dont they use the Alexandria Stadium in Birmingham. If its good enough for the European Championships next year why not Diamond League and the World Championships.
They should cut their losses and invest further in Birmingham. All this London centric nonsense
is ridiculous.
Each time they have to move the seats cost the taxpayers money in losses. No one talks about that just our great deal!

Re: Athletics at London Stadium today
Those £149 tickets looked like some sort of corporate prawn sandwich deals
The lower tier seats were £60, £90 & £110
Most of the upper tier seats were £40 & the only £25 seats were the nose bleed ones right at the back
How many were given away who knows
But as far as I know this is the one day of athletics that Coe reckoned was going to be the home of the running & jumping universe

Well, it's something for our owners to crow about i suppose we got the BEST stadium in the Premier League for Athletics
Pity when it comes to football we get voted the worst

Evicted and relocated to a purpose built football stadium at the taxpayers expense . . .
May be a silver lining in this: the stadium could finally be kitted out with the state of the art retractable seating we were promised before the move.

Being cynical, I do wonder how many tickets have just been given away locally to get enough bums on seats?

They presented the 1997 4x400 team with their upgraded gold medals given the USA were drug cheats. Nice little moment.
Always thought it was a shame Roger Black was running in the Michael Johnson era. Zero chance whatsoever of a solo gold.
