Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

I'm not saying Sullivan does have faith, I'm saying he should have faith by virtue of the fact that he should never have allowed him to become manager if he didn't.

It might have been Brady's choice but ultimately it's his decision.  They should have given him the job with a brief to stay up and then use the summer to rebuild the squad so now we are in the summer he should be doing everything he can to help Potter succeed.

And if that has changed, he should fucking sack him.  Or he should walk.

Sullivan has watched him become the worst West Ham manager (win % wise) in our history in the past 6 months, and he was Brady's pick.

Maybe that's why he could have little faith in him?

Sullivan has the final decision, if he didn't think Potter was the man he shouldn't have appointed him but now that he has, he HAS TO back him otherwise we are in for another season just waiting for a manager to be sacked.

I would wager we won’t be seeing Wilson at WHU, really is a stupid story especially after claims Potter doesn’t see the need to recruit a striker and wants to prioritise other areas, mind you that’s on par with the rumour about Wilson in many ways 🤷‍♂️😂

Sounds like someone with an axe to grind or just wanting click bait is behind these ridiculous story’s, that or we are a shambles and flip flopping on transfers and the like? Which can’t be ruled out either with Sullivan in charge……

Ex usually gets it right and not your typical clickbait wanker. Personally I'd just take it with a pinch of salt as we are often razzle dazzled by the usual methods, but there's also elements of truth to it all as well.

Makes me wonder is Sullivan's mismanagement techniques extend across his whole empire and many/most of his other operations are also in distress through borrowing heavily against potential future earnings.

Handing the banks a shovel load of interest payments through his West Ham connections may be his way of keeping the wolves from the doors of his other operations.

For once good news. Let them have him. However he will score against us. You just know it. Even if it's the only goal he scores all season.

It's a complete shitshow because the long term planning at this club is fucked beyond belief.
Yep, back to short-termism, until he eventually turns back to Moyes for the 3727129th time once he leaves Everton yet again. 😴

Sullivan probably doesn't have much faith in Potter (and why would he?) So there's no hope that we're going to spend all we could this summer when there's a very good chance that we'll need to pay off Potter and his team, spend money on a new manager and his team, AND buy new players in the January window to suit the new manager, who'll probably have a completely different style of play, formation, etc.

It's a complete shitshow because the long term planning at this club is fucked beyond belief.

Im worried we are back where we were 2 weeks ago. “Without a pot to piss in” in terms of budget.  Kudus money gone. We did hear rumour that only 75% of the Kudus money wpuld be available to Potter. We also heard that PSR was not the issue but cash flow was and we had none.  The Kudus deal was cheap in part allegedly because Spurs agreed to pay a third now. That would be just shy of £19 million which we spent on Diouf.

wouldnt be surprised if no more incomings without another sale.

We know the enemy, its Sullivan.

15 years and Sullivan still meddling. Thats the issue here. Wilson is typical, old has been but even if it was a younger player, same issue. Or is it just Sullivan making sure he puts some dosh the way of Salthouse, Silkman, Mackay etc to ensure they continue to suck up to him ( pretending they are friends). Sullivan buying friendships.

btw, as noted elsewhere, David Sullivan Jnr all over Kyle Walker Peters promotional photos like a rash. I highly suspect KWP was another owner pick foisted on Potter albeit Potter had got his man Diouf so not so fussed snd can see a use for KWP.

In short, owners of football clubs should not meddle in the football operation.  No other top division club has that anymore. Its a 30 - 40 year old operational model by a narcissitic owner, who is a rank amateur. His greatest achievement is to successfully hold back West Ham from any real success and progression.

We have to outlive him and hope the sons are not as “needy” for validation

If we aren't even signing Salthouse's unwanted damaged goods on a free this time then wow. However that's a net positive in a weird way I guess. I sort of hope Wilson has enough pride to tell us (Sullivan) to fuck off and take himself off the table and sign somewhere else, assuming he's able to stand.

Struggling to even conclude the Wilson deal. This is why we moved from the Boleyn that was holding us back so much for these Next Level of signings. 😂
Typical bullshit

No striker
We're signing Wilson
But only if he accepts our unacceptable offer
