Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

Nah. I'm just pointing out when people are talking utter bollocks.

Pointless pastime I know seeing as some people just can't help themselves and love any excuse to have a moan even if they're making fools of themselves.

You know that Edson Alvarez played 6 games for Mexico in June and July? Completely different to someone who had 3 months off, innit?

In any case, he re-joined the squad about a week before Wilson started training, not a day or 2.

Also Edson Alvarez never had a preseason with us.  He re-joined the squad a day or 2 before Wilson joined.

He played in the behind the doors friendly.

He was injured.  Otherwise he would of at least had some time in the behind the doors game.
You'd think so wouldn't you. Who would have thought he'd be injured? You couldn't make it up.

Nah. Don't forget he had no pre-season training at all before last week. Players wouldn't normally be put in matches just a few days after their first session for months. If he was injured then it's pretty much guaranteed that it would have been leaked and people would be crowing about it non stop.
The club would have done everything possible to keep it quiet he was injured, would be my take.

The clubs website were crowing about his debut the day/morning before.

Much more in hope than expectation, we've got a shit set of opening fixtures, but if we keep Bowen fit, and Paqueta finds some consistent form, we could surprise quite a few of the pundits who have tipped us for relegation.

What a bizarre comment

I hope we do, do well
and I certainly couldn’t care less what anyone on here thinks about me

I just dont believe he has any idea what he’s doing
I find him the most boringest manager in style I’ve ever seen, and the fact he said West Ham fans are in for an exciting transfer window and then ignored all our biggest problems and just targeted defensive players sums him up perfectly

just because I support West Ham and he’s the West Ham manager doesnt mean I have to tongue out his arsehole

I’m encouraged by what I’ve seen of Füllkrug pre-season. I’d have probably kept Antonio over his mATE Wilson, but there you go.

Mcatee is a big miss imo. Especially at them levels.

Really? I haven't seen much from him to suggest he'll be a big miss. Where have you seen him impress so much?

I'm frustrated at the money Forest are spending and regret the fact that we didn't pick up Elanga for £15m from Man Utd when we were so desperately in need of a left winger, but I won't lose any sleep over McAtee

That's the concern isn't it. We are hopefully better at GK and that might unlock a little with how the rest of the team can function, we are better going forward down the left (but have we lost anything defensively there now?) and arguably Aguerd being back is a tiny improvement in defence, at least in depth and ability with the ball if nothing else. But we really haven't improved in any significant way at all.

That cսnt Wilson being here does nothing for us at all. I don't even want to see him on the pitch if Fullkrug is injured.

Very much hope a few still to come in, even if it should have been at least 4-6 weeks ago. Of course we could still lose a couple of players we don't want to. Anything is possible if pound signs start flashing in front of Sullivan's little eyes.

6.5 million? You'd have to applaud that if it comes off. I didn't think we'd be able to give him away.

Blimey, I thought we'd have to pay that to get him out the club.

If we do bring some players in, rather than going for the positions we're desperate for, let's hope we sign a slow, lightweight left winger who cuts in. That'll do the trick.

I've just read on X that we might get £6.5m for Guido.  😐

I reckon we get a couple of decent signings in this window that might strengthen the first team, which should have bene done months ago.
