Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

They are looking for £35 maybe even £40 million. I dont know if he’s worth anything like that but its classic Sullivan and Southampton hold almost all of the cards as they dont have to sell. We have 11 days is it and are they know we are desperate for central midfielders and Sullivan and Brady told everyone we’re skint with their “we must sell before we buy” before the window started.

Sullivan rates himself as a deal maker. He’s clueless, an amateur, a Del Boy trying to operate in the high end, luxury goods market. We wont get him for less than £40. If we ( Potter ) dont think he’s worth it then quickly get to the next target. Only thing on our sude is supposedly Fernandes wants the move. That might help get him for £40 with only £35 mill up front.

Tie up the Makau deal asap now imo. But watch Sullivan put in a derisory bid or one well short of their £20 mill valuation Lille would supposedly look for. Sullivan has left it to the last minute to further reduce his negotiating hand.

With him doing negotiations he is again ultimately the “gatekeeper” on all transfers in and out but tells everyone its Potter and Macaulay.

The “Sullivan Effect” is in overdrive right now.  He will not get the signings Potter and the squad needs is where Im leaning as we have seen many times before. Steidten may have not been perfect but could get a deal over the line
Oh yeah, and there will be the attempt to put all the blame on Potter and Macauley too. 'The manager didn't want to buy anyone' is the standard line which actually means 'We didn't seriously go after any players he actually wanted, and then he refused the cheaper second rate players we did say we'd get him'

I still remember Bilic in his final days or maybe after he'd gone exposing that after Sullivan said Bilic refused Renato Sanches and a Polish player on loan as a way to make Bilic sound bad, that in fact what the deal was 'Do you want X player, OR Sanches and the other one on loan?' They are always twisting things to suit their narrative.

Takes weeks to buy, took him 2/3 days to sort the Kudus sale.
Only because he pulled his pants right down in front of Levy, turned and bent over, and let himself get dry fucked by him over it while the player watched and laughed because he'd got what he wanted so easily.

It was an utter humiliation for someone who prides themselves on being such a winner in business. Got absolutely shafted in letting our most sellable asset by far go on the cheap because of how poorly he's run this club into the ground. No wonder Brady made that ludicrous claim on the radio that it was our decision to move on from him because he was crap.

Plus now any selling club like Southampton know how desperate he is, they can also absolutely fuck us and rob us blind when we kneel before them with pitiful offers for players.

I hope we do have no intention of signing Fernandes for what Southampton want for him.

That would be complete madness.

We could all hear how nervous she sounded on Talksport and they actually went easy on her causing her no issues. Couple that with the "we are on the floor with cilit bang" quote and you start to get the impression they are shitting it. They've seen long paying loyal fans/customers walk away at the end of the season refusing to return and it all looks to be getting to hot for them now. Fucking great stuff.

And no i am not taking the piss, he is actually reporting that, wish there was a massive fuck off sullivan tifo planned for friday eve or some sort of protest.
If this is correct, Sullivan is a fucking timewasting clown. All this is is a 'we tried' scenario unfolding before us at the end of the window, before we get someone cheaper in who has 'some' of the right attributes but isn't what we actually, desperately, need. This is why we are so fucked under these shysters.

Clearly there's no serious intent to go out and get the manager the player he wants and all of us are begging for. What does Sullivan think is going to happen if he keeps going down this road? Championship here we come. There is still time to pull us out of this, if he actually chooses to. If he doesn't have the money then just say he doesn't have the money. Meanwhile Alvarez is going to walk out the door with us getting fuck all in return to help replace him. We've made a net gain in transfers this season when we really need to be going the other way.

It's embarrassing doing business like this. It's from the Alan Partridge school of haggling. Southampton are going to just refuse to deal with him if he keeps wasting their time, which is probably deep down what he's waiting for them to say so he can keep the money in his pocket.

They have a complete nutjob as a owner, who is driven to be at the top. Had a taste of it last year, now got Europe and wants more.  Geezer is dodgy as anything, loads of history around it....but all he does is to compete and win. The Gibbs-Whtie saga proved that.

Sullivan just wants cash and to finish 17th. Oh and to sell one of our best players to Spurs.

i know I keep banging the same old drum and I really couldn't give a fuck about any other club but how the fuck do we not have any money when us and Forest each sell a player for £55m, each then spend or cover 35-40m on players but then Forest go and spend an extra £94m on three players plus in addition to those they have now confirmed they are also signing Doulas Luiz from Juventus. Akanji as a stop gap for a few seasons makes sense, he is a very good player and use to playing in a back 3.  He plays on either side and is of real quality.

I am surprised City are considering getting rid of him to be honest.

For a reasonable fee it would be a great signing for us,  so of course it won't happen. But just another example of how it isn't really that hard to do some decent business.

Yup, It's not what you want in terms of age but Akanji is absolutely better than every CD we have at the club. He would be a good stop gap buying some time to get in some youngsters for the future or just retooling. I hate the short termist view of it and that he'd likely have fuck all resale value, but I don't mind as long as the board actually commits to long term development and progress and commits to buying young players to replace him in a couple of years, and the shower we currently have in that position.

Still, won't happen. If we get a veteran CB it'll be someone fucking atrocious and 3-4 years older through good old Salty.

Akanji  another cast-off that's over 30. Thought we were supposed to be significantly lowering the age of our Squad? That would be the 2nd over 30 to arrive if he did.
