Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

Given our most glaring need (and there are plenty of them) was the lack of pace in our midfield, why do we keep selling our half-decent mids at a loss and keep our shitter, slower ones. We've now shipped 3 midfielders and brought in zero. We've actively weakened the area that most needs reinforcements. We are a fucking parody of ourselves.

'Tracking this player'
'This player is a target'
'A bid is expected to go in'

Same old fucking words mean nothing, all talk no trousers, haven't actually done anything shit we've been hearing all summer with midfielders, only the players concerned are now getting more and more obscure.

Fuck off Sullivan. Do the honourable thing and fall on your sword. Sell up for a fair price to someone who cares about doing right by this club more than their own bank balance. And take Brady with you.

Sir alf, strapped for cash my arse.

If (IF) that were true its down to neolithic levels of incompetence or curruption or both

But as the video says we have a HUGE buffer when it comes to psr but they are too cheap to do anything.  Just gonna live off that interest and any money that may or may not be in brown envelopes whilst the tram
crumbles.

Mad Dog, we’re strapped for cash and Sullivan/board doesnt want to borrow more I reckon even though he secured it for another season. The Kudus money was £35 immediate up front which was the reason he took an overall bad deal fee of £55 mill.   The purchases of Diouf and Hermadsson were total of £34 million initially and some add ons up to 20 for the keeper. Wilson we dont know but obviously not what they are saying and agent fee will be material to Salthouse and includes kickback to Sully.

Now I know they only pay amortisation costs but bake in agent fees etc possibly up to £15 million or more? will be cash going out from the £35 million cash coming in. Its actually more that is arguably unaccounted for and maybe sits in cash in the bank account? Hard to know but you can see the whole approach is like a market trader or Del Boy who pays his debts straight out of cash he gets for stuff he sold?

The HITC video points to amateur, small time operation we ate.

It's fucking MENTAL how we cannot sell anyone let alone for reasonable money. As you say- even Alvarez who you'd have thought wouldn't be that tough to sell. By the way the option to buy if they take it up is apparently for 20 million EUROS so that's a 45% or so loss on yet another player. How can we lose that much on Alvarez for fuck's sake?

As for the remainder of the Kudus fee and I can't believe I'm saying this in fairness to the board they did say 1/4 of that would have to cover debt/costs. However, in actuality 55-18-20=17 million quid income and my question is WHY should it need to cover debt/costs? Fucking piss poor yet again. So we haven't made a profit on him at all, even, in real terms. Also 55/4=13.75 so there should be 3.25 million unless they've just said thank you very much we'll have all 17. Maybe it means they have another 1.25 million after the 2 million 'improved' bit to make their take it or leave it of 33.25 to Southampton for Fernandes, if they fancy being laughed out of the room for a third and final time.

Actually on Brownhill, has he even been fucking training with anyone? If not he's going to take a month to get up to match fitness anyway. If the board are intending to sign him right at the death, then he's not even going to be properly fit and available until October. It's going to be an embarrassing shambles when he comes in the day after the window shuts (probably with Antonio FFS) but if it was Sullivan's 'masterplan' all along then just swallow your fucking pride and take the pelters you're getting anyway due to inaction and at least bring him in early in the window so he has a preseason. It's just making Potter's job even harder.

Unless of course he's waiting for the window to shut so he can lowball the guy as per usual, which I'm convinced is the case with Antonio too.

It's worrying Brownhill hasn't signed for anyone else. You'd think one of the other lower prem clubs or a Championship contender may have taken him. If he's surplus to requirements at fucking BURNLEY and Leeds and Sunderland and Wolves and Everton aren't touching him (to be fair Leeds and Sunderland have been fishing in bigger ponds than we seem to be able to so I can see why they'd have no interest), then what does that say about the likely impact he will have?

It's absolute fucking DREGS. I really am starting to think that him and Antonio is going to be all we end up with. We must hold a premier league record for bringing in unattached players outside a transfer window in desperation under these cunts.
Surely the only reason Brownhill hasn't been signed by someone....is that he already knows where he's going!?!

He's too 'good' a free transfer to have not been snapped up by someone, so it just suggests he doesn't need to be snapped up as it's all sorted already.
I just don't see the benefit, for the sake of keeping up appearances, that we'd get from doing this. It benefits no-one to have a player allegedly wrapped up but purposely keeping them from their teammates and manager for all of preseason and indeed the first three weeks of the season. Doesn't benefit the player, doesn't benefit the manger, doesn't benefit the team.

It doesn't even benefit the board. They are paying someone to sit at home on purpose, damaging the club even more than already and wilfully depriving the manager of players. It won't even save them from a savaging. They announced Cuntson during the window which pissed us all off and exposed their intentions yet again, so why not Brownhill? It makes no sense. They'd have been coated off for the signing and then at the end of the window again when no-one else comes in, but they'll be coated off just the same at the end of the window when no-one else has come in and then he does. It doesn't spare them any shame or embarrassment whatsoever doing it this way. It costs them more money.

Behave. You don't need to bother with that unnecessary nonsense at our highly Professional Club. Take Wheelchair Wilson for example. Fuck all pre-season and he's already been pushed out on to the pitch as soon as he's arrived. "Sub Ref!" 👨‍🦽

He has, it's us. We started paying him on the 14th. Was meant to be announced Monday in the afterglow of the Sunderland win.

After that clusterfuck they've hit the damage control button. Phantom bids till the window closes. We tried. Welcome Josh.
