Re: Disco
Saw Nile Rodgers and Chic a few weeks back in Crystal Palace. With various support DJs it was a VERY disco-tastic evening.
Crowd was a bit different from those that are more familiar to me. Not a sign of a mosh pit breaking out at any point.
For me it's apparent that everything is so upbeat both musically and lyrically. Would be interesting to hear a disco style song musically with Morrisey or Radiohead style lyrics...

Re: Disco
I was only a kid at the time but started getting into the music and buying the records.
Van McCoy - The hustle
Heatwave- Boogie nights
The Hues corporation - Rock the boat
Earth Wind and Fire -Boogie wonderland
Chic Le Freak
The O jays -Love train
Edwin Star Contact
Then along came through Bee gees and Saturday night fever before jazz funk came into being along with some great soul and dance artists.
I used to spend fortunes on records in them days and then started going to some of the clubs regularly
Later than that it was house which wasn't really my thing but i had mates who used to do the odd DJ set so I would tag along and we would knock about with the likes of Brandon Block which was an experience.
