I'm struggling to comprehend what Marcus Rashford has done to merit starting for England.

In one run Gordon looked so much more direct and dangerous and got a shot away. I don't think he's been given enough minutes for England Madueke gets into good positions but just wastes it most of the time without even delivering the final ball. Just then he should have scored or at least had an assist. Must be a terribly frustrating player to play with. You know what you're getting from Bowen and Gordon and to an extent Saka. Madueke is nowhere near good enough to warrant one moment of decisiveness that may never come, for me at least and you don't know what he's going to try and do. I don't understand the persistence and having him start every game. I guess he just looks 'busy'

I'm actually really surprised Arsenal got him as well. Eze I get, but not Madueke. Especially when Saka is fit.

Lovely header from Kane just there by the way.

The boy (and I emphasise the word) is getting proper lost in the occasion and is hiding better than Where's Wally out there. 😶‍🌫️

And if Serbia don't panic when in possession in our final third, it should be fairly straightforward to beat us at this rate.

I have counted four occasions already where Madueke has given the ball away or broken down the attack. Shocking player.

This England side is there for the taking tonight.

Madueke over Bowen is simply a DEI selection.

The obsession with Madueke is ridiculous. He’s all flash and barely any end product. Flatters to deceive and holds on to the ball way too much. Too many attacks end with him.

This England team looks average as fuck. And I don't see much balls in this team aside from Pickford, Rice and arguably Kane.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if they get turned over tonight.

Sorry I meant to say he set up our only goal in the Euro Final earlier, he still produced it when it mattered, just as he did against Slovakia and scoring our opening goal of the Tournament in a 1-0 win when no one else was performing. What gets easily overlooked is he's recently turned 22yo. He's made a hell of an impact for both Club and Country for one so young.

Big time. Proper shit hot Footballer. I actually place Palmer in the same category, I regard them both that special. We are very lucky to have them.
Not for me, Bellingham goes hiding when it matters.  Rice on the other hand is a big game player, best player on the pitch Euro 2021 final.

He literally scored Englands only goal in the Euros Final against an impressive eventual winners, Spain. 🤔

Not to mention that outrageous last minute overhead kick to take us to extra time before winning the game against Slovakia to keep us in the Tournament. He's also turned up to help win Real Madrid a number of Trophies in his debut season for them.
Bellingham is definitely a big game player. Problem is he can’t be arsed the rest of the time, it seems. He was clearly up for that final a tonne but didn’t seem to give two shits about any of the other matches really. Even his celebration when he scored that last minute goal was all about him.

He even criticised Madueke himself after a lacklustre performance against 174th ranked Andorra demanding he do more and doesn't concentrate enough. 😂

What did Thomas Tuchel say about Noni Madueke?

He said: "Yes, that's what he needs to give. "He sometimes has a lack of concentration or falls asleep in counter-pressing, but if he pushes himself he can be a very important player."

"Yeah, you stay there, Jarrod, good lad"

Appalling starting line up selection by the kraut. Madueke, Anderson and Morgan Rodgery in and no space for Bowen.

Pathetic!

No goals or assists Madueke starts ahead of Bowen
Jarrod might as well knock Tommy the Germans squads on the head & wait for the next manager

Gary Neville won 20 career trophies, you plank. Twenty. We're talking serial winners, not one off FA Cup winners.

Anyway, I think Bellingham & Rice are top notch. Palmer has had 1 good season, all the talent in the world but thick as pigshit, fingers crossed with him. If the right back James stays fit, he's a quality player. If Foden can get into his club side, maybe England can find a role for him.

The rest? Fuck all golden in there.

Madueke starts again.

Don’t rate him. Certainly not on Bowen’s level.

wonder if he’d be starting if he played for us. Doubt he’d even be in the squad.

no player has more goal contributions in the premier league than Bowen since about April time.

When was the last time England had a manager who picked his players purely based on form?

Another baffling team from the noncey Roland Rat looking German. Maduake and Rogers are dross of the most beige variety, Livramento who doesn't even look good at club level and Anderson who is basically a clogger - presumably to appease Rice's Roy of the Rovers delusions. Reece 'better looking than my sister' James who had played about twelve minutes of football in the last decade and Konsa who is the own brand mild cheddar of centre backs. Not an ounce of creativity on the pitch, barely a player that is worthy of inclusion in the squad let alone a starting berth. Potter level ineptitude. Wouldn't be surprised if this was a draw, "tough place to go", "creditable draw", "professional performance from a young side", "oh the crowd said some naughty things to our sensitive pansy fuckin players" type coverage to follow. Cunts.

What a load of shit international football is these days.

As a slight aside Rice cracks me up. Obviously rate him highly but considering he's 27yo this season and in his 3rd season with Arsenal, his only Trophy win in his career is still the newly founded 3rd rate Europa Conference League Cup. 😆

Should have gone elsewhere lad for regular Trophy winning.

I've explained it below. Aint going round in circles. Said my bit. Rather base players on their ability rather than the trophies their sides have won.

Eerie Decent" wrote: 09 Sep 2025, 13:06 We could definitely be better than we are, but it's not even up for debate that we wasted much more talent in that particular era.

Rio, Terry, A.Cole, G Neville, Scholes, Lampard, Gerrard, J.Cole, Beckham, Rooney, Owen. Each one a serial winner at club level.

We now have Dan Burn, Guehi, Elliott, Rashford, the right winger with the hair, Eze and the oil tanker up front.

Not even close.
But this is where you let yourself down. You pick the cream out of the years gone by then pick some squad players now. You're comparing Apples with fucking Potatoes.

G Neville as wasted talent really?
