I sadly can see this happening in the next ten years.
Appearantly a leaked document in France contained information about the French government asking French hospitals to prepare for 50k injured patients in 2026! Macron is mad he thinks he's Napoleon. Hopefully France get a new president soon!

Re: Is war between Nato/USA and Russia/China/Brics imminent? World war 3?
Statement
by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on the violation of Polish airspace by Russian drones
Last night, numerous drones from Russia violated Polish airspace. Our air defences were activated and successfully ensured the defence of NATO territory, as they are designed to do. Several Allies were involved alongside Poland. This included Polish F16s, Dutch F35s, Italian AWACS, NATO Multi Role Tanker Transport, and German Patriots. I commend the pilots and all who contributed to this quick and skillful response. The North Atlantic Council met this morning and discussed the situation in light of Poland’s request for consultations under Article 4 of the Washington Treaty. Allies expressed solidarity with Poland and denounced Russia’s reckless behaviour. A full assessment of the incident is ongoing. What is clear is that the violation last night is not an isolated incident. The Supreme Allied Commander will continue to actively manage our deterrence and defence posture along the entire eastern flank. Allies are resolved to defend every inch of Allied territory. We will closely monitor the situation along our eastern flank, our air defences continually at the ready. This only reinforces the importance of NATO and the path to which Allies agreed at our Summit in The Hague earlier this year. We need to invest more in our defence, ramp up defence production so we have what we need to deter and defend, and we need to continue to support Ukraine, whose security is interlinked with our own. And let me conclude by saying that Russia is waging a dangerous war of aggression against Ukraine that continually targets civilians and civilian infrastructure. Allies are determined to step up their support for Ukraine in the face of Russia's escalating campaign.
NATO Secretary General
With that, I'm going to take one or two questions.
Andrew Gray, Reuters
Secretary General. Thank you very much. Andrew Gray from Reuters, do you have any initial assessment of the intent behind this incident? Was it a deliberate attack, a deliberate incursion or a mistake? And do you have any particular message for Russia for President Putin about this incident?
NATO Secretary General
Yes, as I said, a full assessment is ongoing. But of course, whether it was intentionally or not, it is absolutely reckless. It is absolutely dangerous. But as I said, the full assessment is ongoing.
And to Putin, I mean, my message is clear: stop the war in Ukraine. Stop the escalating war, which he is now basically mounting on innocent civilians and civilian infrastructure. Stop violating Allied airspace. And know that we stand ready, that we are vigilant, and that we will defend every inch of NATO territory.
Andrew Gray, Reuters
Well, one more if I may. Does this tell you anything about the state of NATO's air defences, particularly when it comes to drones, a relatively new threat. Does NATO need to do more to better protect against drones?
NATO Secretary General
I think what we have seen last night was a very successful reaction by NATO and Allies, including of course, Poland itself, but also the Dutch and the Italians and the Germans, everybody involved. And I'm really impressed. So of course, we always have to make sure that we are one step ahead. But I think last night showed that we are able to defend every inch of NATO territory including, of course, its airspace. Thank you so much.

Re: Is war between Nato/USA and Russia/China/Brics imminent? World war 3?
Yes because they were in Polish airspace but directed to Western Ukraine. Russian can't complain.
Conventional armies don't need to be very large, Small well equipped and well trained is what is needed and I'm sure our boys are. Fighting will be drones, missiles and aircraft. Russia will struggle with professional troops on the ground but their allies N Korea and China seem to be happy to continue to supply them with these weapons.
I doubt N Korean would send troop into a NATO country. Also I think most are in Russia to back fill those fighting in Ukraine.

Decimation is a badly used word as it mean't in Roman times one in ten to be killed. I.e. only 10%.

Not sure Putin can actually extend his operations - he's got enough problems finding cannon fodder to send to the Ukraine as it is.

If there is going to be WW3 don't think boots on the ground will be major factor, but cyber attacks and drones will be

When considering the size of our Army, don't think that's how many there are to fight. With drivers, clerks, medics, logistics, mechanics, vets, engineers, IT, etc. there is a huge back office staff, to support boots on the ground. The current infantry strength of the Army is around 20,000 (exact number not published, but there are 33 regular infantry battalions, ignoring reserves). Plus Royal Marines, about 5,000.

Your chance has come
Report to Waterloo Station at 10am on Wednesday to meet up with Sergeant Major Farage
It would be my honour to fight for my Country. I'll make sure I have a pen handy if the need is there for conscription papers to sign.

I worked at the MoD in weapons procurement at the time of the first Gulf War.
Immediately afterwards our project manager was the Colonel who had been CO of the Royal Engineers in that war. He said that experience had tought him that the british army was a one shot device in full on warfare. I imagine tht it has got worse since then.

We haven't fucking got an Armed Forces anymore.
Bullshit
Been decimated for years.
Unfortunately, NOT bullshit
Ok, slight exaggeration I admit, but it isn't anywhere like it once was, which I would class as a significant Armed Forces.
