Heart of Midlothian
Heart of Midlothian
5 points clear seem to have broken the 2 horse stranglehold on Jock fitbaw
The days of dodgy old scouts roaming parks looking for talent is long gone.
The Tony Bloom model of stats and facts is deffo the way forward, successful at Brighton and now with the Jambos. His team in Camden have info on players from all divisions in every country on the planet.

After being one of the greats of Belgian football back in the 1930's they finally won the title again last season after spending almost 50 years in the lower leagues.

Re: Heart of Midlothian
My Hibs mate always refers to Hearts as the puddle drinkers ?
The recruitment model that Bloom uses or similar ones is being adopted by numerous clubs at lower levels with mixed results.

Re: Heart of Midlothian
Rather the Jambos than Celtic, but hopefully the Light Blues return to their throne soon enough.
Re: Heart of Midlothian
The strategy seems simple. You rent an office, employ 20 actuaries to sit in front of computers, find a Caciedo, sell him at a profit and move on to the next deal whilst keeping a club competitive
Re: Heart of Midlothian
That kind of model will only work if you start small.(Lower division club.Or smaller League.) You can't do that at this end of the stick. Unless your'e happy wasting hundreds of millions. And Tony Bloom ain't in that business.
