Re: Sam Allardyce
Nope. The only plus point would be that he seems to have been the only manager who has been able to handle/manage Sullivan's stupid follies with players and keep him in a box to an extent. 'David's presents' as he called them. I think he was cut from the same cloth enough so the 'never trick a trickster' applied and had enough about himself that you can imagine him stooping down and laughing in Sullivan's face. But Allardyce is a relic from the past as much as Sullivan is. Only trouble is that while one is lying on a sunbed without a care in the world, the other one still owns our fucking football club.
From 2020:
Former West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has said co-owner David Sullivan would “bully” managers into buying players he and fellow co-owner David Gold would want to buy as the fallout from Sullivan’s talkSport interview continues.
Sullivan claimed on talkSport that he regretted handing over the control of transfers to former manager Manuel Pellegrini and director of football Mario Husillos despite the co-owners somewhat checkered record making moves himself. Allardyce was speaking on the same broadcaster and has previously revealed that Sullivan would give him “gifts” of players who he had no idea were arriving. But he also said that in some cases, the owners will do everything to get their way.
"Sometimes [the owners] will try to bully you into a player they fancy,” he said. "But you have to stay strong and try to get on with it. "But at the end of the day it can be a conflict between you and the owner because he wants to make sure when he spends his money he's getting value for money."

Of course the only thing you'd say is that Sullivan's 'gifts' 10 years ago were 1.5-2 mill players who were usually squad members and wouldn't sink a team if as expected they were shit. Nowadays they are 10-20 million players which absolutely have a huge detrimental effect when they don't come off.

Re: Sam Allardyce
Sullivan's already done a booze cruise to Calais to stock his drinks cabinet with plenty of Chateaux N'Carpette, ready for the "Big Day".
Got Allardyce on speed dial, too in case there's no time to lose.

Re: Sam Allardyce
We have (had) the West Ham way, then we have the modern-day version = Clutching at straws.
Shit like this and people wonder why we are a laughingstock
Be the icing on the cake though, sold our home, sold our footballing soul, an appointment like this out of desperation would be the final nail in the coffin.

When did I ever say I wanted will still?

Re: Sam Allardyce
In his last job in charge of 4 games he won 0 playing his part in sending Leeds down from the Premier League 3 seasons ago. He's done at the top level in the game now.

No... he's finished along with Pulis, Harry, Warnock and the like.
