This lad is a real problem.

At £40mil, it's getting to the point of worst ever signing territory. The worst crime in football is hiding, centre back is probably the one position you can half get away with it, but not for too long. Shirks taking responsibility, who imo makes him worse than Mavropanos, at least he fronts up, which can lead to mistakes. Kilman doesn't, so it doesn't get highlighted.

We've obviously got a massive overhaul in the summer, but for me, he is the biggest problem in our team and we need to cut our losses if we can. It took a while to spot, because he hides, but you can't fool people for too long. Wolves fans told us, some wouldn't have it, but they were dead right. Absolute fraud of a player.

But I read it on here that he needs to be part of a 3 man defence, playing on the left hand side and have good midfielders in front of him, with strong centre halves playing with him, and that's when he's going to come good?

Maybe he played him on the wrong side, so he would have to concentrate more as he would not be comfortable playing there.

He's got to show consistency. 1 game in a blue moon won't cut it and he needs to keep this kind of level of performance up. He's frustrating as he has the ability if he just engages his brain to stay switched on most of the time. Same thing can also be levelled at Todibo as he too can peform much better if he remains professional and switched on. Consistency from both is what I want to see from them now.

I really hope I’m wrong and he proves me otherwise.

He didn’t play badly yesterday, but he just doesn’t look like a top-level player right now. It reminded me of when a decent non-league side has a good day against Premier League opposition in the FA Cup, solid, but not quite at that elite level.

You can forgive him for being out of position for the goal , that happens to everyone, but the lack of effort to get back and defend was really disappointing.

Chasing back, especially after your own mistake, doesn’t take talent, just desire.

If he proves me wrong, I’ll be the first to hold my hands up.

I hope to fuck he comes good, and he's suddenly amazing, as given the fee and wages for 7 years we desperately need him to be.

However, I'm far from convinced, he's had a few good games for us, sandwiched in between mostly absolute dirge. Yesterday was fantastic all round, and could be a real turning point in our season, but let's be honest, Newcastle were not at the races at all, maybe Europe took it out of them, but they were so passive.

What the CB's did they did well, but I'm not suddenly forgetting Brentford & Leeds. I don't care that we had a different midfield, it was keystone cops when it was properly put on them in the previous 2 games, some of the worst defending ever seen at Premier League level.

Let's hope it was Nuno's coaching, as we were certainly much better at defending set pieces, but I'm not getting carried away by 1 games against at under par side who haven't won away yet this season.

Does he have to character to be a potential leader / captain material ?

Its to early to say based on one solid performance but it's a start at least.and we can only hope he can prove to be an asset in the months to come.

I struggle to think of anyone with fewer captaincy credentials. Not sure I’ve even seen him speak. We should concentrate firstly on getting him aggressively heading the ball consistently.

He did brilliantly at the end of the game. We were under pressure and when the cross was sent into the box, he attacked the ball and made sure he was getting there first. Not only did he clear the ball, he headed it straight to Bowen and launched the counter attack that lead to the killer third goal. If he can continue to show that level of aggression and determination, then we will have a good player on our hands.

Absolutely not.

Let's be honest here.  He's started EVERY Premier League game since he joined and has had 2 good games since he's been here.

Kilman had a solid game and hopefully can kick on from here.  Looked a good pairing with Todibo.

But credit where it is due, he was much better against Newcastle.

Still made a ricket with their goal - pressing far too high up the pitch and got marooned about 20 yards behind play when Murphy scored. Left the defence hopelessly exposed.

But, other than that one mad moment, he played solidly against a decent side. We need to see more of it.

That subtle switch, which put right-footed Todibo to the left of left-footed Kilman, actually worked pretty well. It also helped that Todibo started getting physical with Newcastle's forwards. When Todibo is prepared to accept that playing CB hurts, then he's so much better. He's got many good physical attributes, but he has to be prepared to put his body on the line. He did that yesterday.

Fair play to both of them. We need to see this regularly now.

I actually saw him do a full blooded header towards the end of the second half. Where has that been?

He was too far up the pitch for the Murphy goal but a big improvement overall. 

Yeah, his huge headed clearance actually set up our third goal. He won quite a few important headers yesterday, including in their box at free kicks.

That's the level he's got to play at more regularly now. I just hope it wasn't a one-off.

As Alan Dev intimated in his interview - your responsibilities as a defender is to defend first and if you have the time then pass the ball later - to people who are much better at it!

When it comes to attacking a header he’s probably the worst centre back I can remember. From what I’ve seen it’s fucking amazing he’s got as far as he has in the game, gutless, no spite Bentley driving look at me Nancy boy

At least Kilman tries and seems to care. Unlike that mardy French cսnt Todibo who should never where the shirt again, and should be the one really getting the stick, the mercenary that he is.

He's a saleable asset - as awful as he is. So he needs to play at least until January. Nobody is taking Kilman off our hands. He does try but it's not good enough.
