Cloud Storage
Have a server with approx. 15Tb of data stored on it, mainly films and music.
Have never really been a fan of cloud storage but realise this is probably the way forward, especially if I want to access my files from almost anywhere.
Bloke in work recommended BackBlaze, and seems to be decently priced.
Any of you cunts use a cloud storage solution? If so, what would you recommend?

I have mate.
Have been looking at a 4 bay U Green NAS.
Problem I have is my backups are stored across 6 discs of about 3Tb each (they were lying around spare), so I'd also have to buy at least 2 new 8-10 Tb drives. A monkey for the NAS, plus another for the two drives I'd need. The cloud service I've been recommended is $99 per year, unlimited storage.
Plus as we know, mechanical disc aren't infallible.

Plenty of "off-line" solutions. I've got 3 synchronised 40Tb NAS I use for storage, one in the UK and 2 elsewhere, all inter-linked via VPN.
Storage is as cheap as chips at the moment and if you've got a bunch of unused disks lying around you can coral them into one big virtual drive as a (USB) storage back-up.
2 of my servers cost a bag of sand each once fully configured, which I did over a few months to spread the cost out. I can access (stream) that data from anywhere that has a decent internet connection, which is most places, these days.
The benefit is that, being physically in-house, there is much less chance of somebody assessing your files and putting you somewhere on their political spectrum/selling that assessment to others. No chance of any fee increases down the line, either.

Re: Cloud Storage
Do you need easy access to the files or just want them archived? There are cheap alternates if you don’t want quick access to the files. 15TB of storage won’t be cheap. Can you compress any of it?

Technically I didn't say a word. Thoughts and prayers and all that.
In answer of your question, no. SWTAP![]()
TECHNICALLY you didn't need to, as the term 'mentioned' can be used as a response to something both written OR spoken.
I can play this game all night son, but will probably be bored within a post or two.
So, as you've already stated that you have no recommendation to give with respect to my original post, I'll see your SWT and raise you a FYYC

Yeah, here's hoping fella.
Although as you've already mentiond the 'N' word, my hopes aren't that high.
