Odd because for 50min we looked good for 1-0 and maybe more.

I hope Gattuso is a stop gap for this World Cup. Hopefully we avoid the mighty Ireland in the playoffs.

Not qualifying would be a disaster, but on the plus side it means avoiding all those cringey Italian Americans.

The Ireland game v hungary is quite entertaining. 1 down after 3 mins have just equalised (penalty) they have to win to get in the playoffs. Ex hammers Cullen and Coventry involved, Fatty Fergs injured.

To make it more consistent I’d say a player anywhere inside the 6 yd box who is in an offside position is deemed to be offside automatically wherever he is in relation to the keeper & the ball

It’s one of those that sometimes gets given, sometimes doesn’t. If it happened against us or one of the other insignificant teams then it would hardly have been discussed or given any column inches. The other thing I thought was what if Robertson headed the ball the other way instead of ducking? Even though he would have been offside I still think instinctively the keeper has to think about what Robertson might do. I think that’s why “interfering with play” means exactly that. If you have to be considered in anyway then you’re in play.
