It eas hus injuries that done his career. The ability however was quality. And in part I do blame him for his injuries had he been a bit smarter not going in to every challenge like a wrecking ball. That way he could have been on the pitch more doing what he does best. In his day he was unplayable and exciting to watch.

I always liked Carroll, he always put in a shift and was quality on his day. Shame about the injuries.

Mediocre? Not when he was fit he wasn't which admittedly wasn't enough when playing for us, but when he was he was  unplayable

Saw him on the central line with his bird the other week. Was gonna thank him for the Palace goal, but thought better of it.

Do t agree with that at all. Possibly overpriced on the basis that his injuries meant he couldn't play so many games but on talent, when fit, among the best forwards in the world at the time. Automatic pick for England.

All I ever wanted was for him to be fit.
​​​​​​But if he had been fit he wouldn't have been at west ham. 
I know people laugh about footballing cripples (and west ham love signing them), but I'm gutted for him really. Could have gone everywhere and won everything.
