May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

We had to sell Kudus anyway. With the way Potter sets up there was no point keeping him unless Bowen had a long term injury. He would have just continued being played out of position, playing poorly, acting stroppy and decreasing even further in value by next summer.

The only problem with the sale was Sullivan telling the world how desperate we were to do it and selling him to our biggest rival. 

Only good thing I'd say about Duxbury - even when we were actually in the shit financially he always made out that we were okay, so he didn't sell players on the cheap. He refused to sell Bellamy to Spurs as well and ended up getting a lot more money for him.

Our wage bill has been significantly cut with the players who have left, just Ings, Antonio, Fabianski, Cresswell, Coufal, Zouma you're looking at a £20million per year saving.

Even with this 'sell to buy' system, we didn't need to accept low offers to finance deals to suit PSR or pay back the £40million loan. Put every player up for sale and only accept the right amount for each, already having sounded out the cost and likelihood of agreement for each of their replacements.

He's done the equivalent of selling the TV to cover a payday loan from fucking Wonga, and basically sold the telly for way less than it's worth because he was so desperate. There is no strategy behind this. No young players with potential waiting in the wings to come in. The only objective of this was to pay off a debt. Not strengthen the team.

They will re-finance the loan instead of paying it off.

Don't get me wrong it's a horrible way to run a club, but I doubt they will be paying off that loan in full.

 

 

You know what- you're completely correct. It's just another fucking credit card to be maxxed out isn't it. Pay what needs to be paid now, get another one going. Take assets out of the club to finance it. 
What's worse is the shareholders could probably pay it all off and repay themselves out of it if they needed to, while preserving the squad. Then again maybe the club's money going to Barclays or other places in interest payments is more palatable than it going into Sullivan's pockets.

So even worse- this was probably agreed fucking days ago and the clubs have been just waiting for the clause to expire so Sullivan's humiliation is even greater. He was absolutely done over by Levy on this one. He smelled the blood in the water and Sullivan just spread his cheeks wider and wider and took what was coming to him. 1st week of preseason is almost done and we have 1 striker on our books.  It's not like this situation has suddenly appeared out of the blue.

I really couldn't care less about Kudos going to Spurs, he is now their problem. Especially when they bomb out of the Champions League in the early stages and a mid table finish, he will no doubt want to move on again.

Do I blame him? No, Sullivan has hawked him around like lucky heather. I feel a bit sorry for him having his "value" debated by the likes of Sullivan and Levy, I am sure he will want a good wash after the dust settles.
Do I believe he is all of the rubbish thrown at him through the usual mouthpieces? Absolutely not. This board always goes into overdrive to paint the players that leave, or may leave in a less than flattering light. In Kudus and Rice's case even if they wanted to stay Sullivan made their positions untenable.
Do I believe our owners got best value? Definitely not. I suspect that Levy threw in the lube for the rogering he gave them.  
So a hypothetical situation in comes to mind:
Do I believe that the bulk of the Kudus money will offset the latest "£40m" black hole coming down the road as put out there by Whetstone? Absolutely. 
So if Kudus goes for, say £55m, that leaves £15m which will probably be spread over a period, likely 3 years. This year probably about £3.75m on the 75% rule imposed by the club.
Is that enough for the down payment on a World Class player? 
I have no ill will towards Kudus but won't wish him well at Tottenham. 


 

 

 

This is it. We've effectively sold him for nothing. To pay a debt. A debt on a ridiculous 40 million quid payday loan because of the owner's stupid short sighted business model, when we all know the owners between them have the means to easily cover it or to be the loaner- even if that is still unpalatable. 
Where is the sustainability in the club? The long term plan? There's just none. After 15 years of ownership. Other clubs have proven it can be done but we just lurch from season to season like a drunk from paycheque to paycheque, scrabbling around until the next lot of money comes in and then immediately spending it and pawning our watch to get us through the month.
