Well next up the Bin Dippers. Two ideals go to head to head in this match....The ideal time for us to play Liverpool after an horrific run of defeats and confidence at an all time low....and the ideal club for Liverpool to face to break their rut, with our unmatchable ability to fold in the face of reputation.
So who will prevail? The bookies certainly favour the Mickeys, making us about 4/1 to pull it off, and them odds on. But we're 3 unbeaten and approaching something close to a 'run of form'.
Mavropanos is back available, as is Fullkrug, Guilherme who subbed off for a rolled ankle was seen in training....but Summerville was conspicuous by absence, with Nuno characteristically coy on his Availability.
With Paqueta back from suspension, Wilson in fine form, and a more settled midfield, there is at least hope that a dysfunctional Liverpool side can be bested and we can give that big bald head of Arne Slot an almighty Tango-esque SLAP!
Predicted LineUp:Areola
AWB Mavropanos Todibo Diouf
Potts Fernandes Paqueta
Bowen. Wilson. Guilherme (Summerville if fit)
Subs: Hermansen, Igor, Kilman, Magassa, Irving, Rodriguez, Earthy, Soucek, Fullkrug
Predicted Score: West Ham 1-3 Liverpool (Wilson) (Salah 2, Ekitike)
Desperately hope I'm wrong, but there's no better team to play when in the doldrums than the Claret and Blue gift. Maybe Nuno can dispel the evidence of history, and stick one up them, and send them back with nothing but a few hubcaps! COYI!

Going to be really honest here and say that I don't know if I should pity or applaud anyone who still cares passionately about this club. On the day when a man who sweated blood for 21 years on the pitch playing for us passed, the current lot looked as though they really couldn't give less of a fuck.
I know the game and players have changed but christ, there didnt look to be not one scintilla of pride on show today.
Anyway, if you're still fully committed to this shambles, hope its enjoyable for you. Me, i'm done fucking caring!

Say what you like about Paqueta getting himself sent off, and it was fucking stupid of course, but do you think a Liverpool player, or perhaps even any other player than Paqueta gets the first yellow? It’s ridiculous. It was absolutely nothing. No wonder he was fucked off. I’m convinced there is a bit of an agenda against him since he showed up the FA. He should obviously act better after, but fucking hell, it was nonsense.

Nuno is doing what he’s always done tactically. With Forest and even Wolves he had more pace up top, wide and midfield so sitting deep and countering worked very well. At West Ham he simply doesnt have that esp without Summerville. He’s realistically about the best fit for us sadly. We look more solid and set piece issues largely solved but so few options. I like that Magassa got minutes today, that he has now made Potts a mainstay. We look better than we did under Potter and Lopetegui which was a low bar but nonetheless its improved. But we are so limited by the squad. Hopefully we get a few points between now and Jan and then fix some issues but the tactics wont change. Low block and look to counter
As already mentioned, we are in a 5 team league trying to finish 16th or 17th. Will we? Just dont know
Alf id say no we won’t on balance and what I am seeing. Fortune favored the brave today of all days and I think it’s a free hit in a game we normally capitulate in and we had a chance against a low on confidence side to pull off a win or at least get a point but instead we sat back showed them way too much respect and let them come at us which just invited the inevitable.
wolves look gone. Forest may well pull themselves out, they have some quality in the side and an owner willing to spend whatever it takes in January. It’s two from us Burnley and Leeds and I think either could have the edge over us when it comes down to it.

We have never replaced Noble & Rice in terms of having a leader on the pitch. Bowen needs to be replaced by someone

Billy had character in abundance
This current squad has absolutely no character.
If we get relegated that will be the main reason.
Note to Paqueta if you are going to get sent off make sure you take someone with you.
He needs to take a long hard look at himself.
The scousers were up to exactly the same tricks feigning injury that they were last season and yet again another ref fell for it
I don't mean any player sny harm but if someone took that keeper out I wouldn't shed no tears.
He is an embarrassment.

The last four managers we've had have all shown that they are competent in the correct set up with decent players.
Our problem isn't really the managers - it's recruitment and the calibre, character and physical resilience of too many of our players.
As some others have intimated, I think some of our younger lads did quite well today, and I thought Todibo and Areola were good again - but we were toothless up top.

Awful in attack. Poor a couple of times in defence. Lack of leadership and balls.

Thought we played okay and showed plenty of effort, just don't have the players upfront to create chances against the top sides.
They do and that was the difference.
Defence & Midfield played well imho.
We can huff and puff all we like in midfield but No shots on target the entire game would indicate we didn’t really play ok and the fact that we “don’t have the players up front to create chances” is something we’ve failed to address for years now. Flocks of chickens coming home to roost.

How shit are West Ham? Well the worst Liverpool team in years, won without the assistance of their 12th man regarding critical decisions, although he did give them all the marginals and the booking of magassy (sp) was ridiculous.
Did Paquetta tell anybody on here what time his bookings would be?

Largely my thoughts too Rootsradical
Between now and Jan, I hope he brings Earthy in for Paqueta. We will do better imo, Earthy is a bit like Fernandes and works for the team. Just injuries have delayed his route to the first team

I'm sort of a bit meh about it
I felt completely deflated when i heard about Billy.
I doubt the news had any effect on the team, and im not knocking them, its hard to expect young men (and prob their parents)'who weren't even born when he was playing to get emotional about it and 'do him proud'
We are crap, desperately need players in and out soon.

Think I'm just about done with this club and football in general. On the day we lose a legend that embodied passion, integrity, honesty, honour, hard work, desire, determination, respect and every other adjective that can describe an absolute gentleman who played for a once great club we are subject to abject refereeing, playacting of the highest order, pathetic behaviour by our current number 10, cowardly management and a bunch of wet blankets who only care about their pay packet and nothing else. Not to mention an athletics stadium with zero atmposhphere and a board that's as hated as the stadium. WTF has happened to this club?!
Perfect opportunity to have a go against the woeful Champions with six PL defeats and three defeats in a row where they have lost by three goals. But nope, we stay cautious for practically the entire game basically inviting Isak to finally break his duck and Liverpool to grab the points. We just stood off, and just allowed them time and space to dictate and when 0-1 down Nuno brings off a striker and brings on a worse striker to try and save the game and when he gets desperate again he throws on another "striker" in Soucek despite taking our best striker off ten minutes earlier,,,, yes I am confused too!!
Paqueta is a disgrace but what on earth is Bowen doing, he should be grabbing him by the neck and dragging him 50 meters away from the Referee. Bowen isn't a captain, but who is? Due to the worst recruitment in our history we have very little to sell and very little on the pitch who is worth playing in a West Ham shirt. We have had a lot of shit over the years but I can't remember such little effort than the pathetic effort this lot put in with a manager who I just cannot see where he is coming from. We would do better with putting an 11 out from this site. Rant over!
see I could maybe understand or sympathize if we were skint or close to administration but we’ve spent hundreds of millions to be nailed on relegation fodder. That’s how dysfunctional our owners are.

We can blame the ref all we like, but didn’t lay a glove on one of the most fragile looking Liverpool teams for years. I really thought the news about Billy would inspire some real fight and effort today, but sadly I was wrong.

The sad thing is the liverpool players were trying harder to stop Paqueta getting a second yellow. That's how few leaders we have.

without him, we'd be a complete and utter disaster but I have to keep reminding myself that bowen has been part of successive (what is it now, four?) absolute dogshit seasons from hell. whatever we can get for him in january, get it. not that I trust our vermin owner to invest it wisely but there's no point hanging on to a depreciating asset that looks like he'd rather be anywhere else but here
Can't agree with that. One of the rare good things usually about us and would rather he retire at the Club than sell him for a quick buck. I'd understand it if he wanted out (which he's never gave the impression) but if not definitely keep. Otherwise whats the point, really..
sorry massive, but like the rest of the squad he's just going through the motions, has been for a while. I don't blame him at all, being asked to play in successive dogshit systems set up by negative, anti football managers. he deserves to be in a team that plays on the front foot, that isn't scared of the opposition. we've now got yet another version of that jock bastard

Another toothless performance. It really is hard to watch week in week out.
I thought Bowen had one of his worse games today completely marked out of the game.
Only positive is we have finally figured out how to defend a corner. But attacking corners are as poor as ever.
fucking useless cunts.

Yet another northern bastard referee. Blind to the shit that Konate, Van Dyke and Macallister were up to but gets his yellow card out for minor offences and even booked Magassa for a good tackle. I don't condone what Paqueta did to get himself sent off (but at least he gets to spend Christmas with his family). Surely there is room inside the FA to appoint southern referees instead of Mike Dean's personal friends. It's no wonder the players get the hump with useless twats like Darren England.

Nuno Moyes. Fucking sick to death of having managers who don’t try to win games. That Liverpool team was clearly low on confidence and were there for the taking.
Nuno is slowly wearing thin with his negative shit. Might talk a good game but he needs to realise he doesn’t have the team to play counter. We dont have the pace

Not a single shot on target in the entire game, fucking disgraceful. Sack him and that over entitled prick Paqueta. Going dahn.
