NFL (since 2016)
"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"Season quickly approaching now with most teams starting training camp this week. Are people interested in doing a fantasy league again this year? I know Mike is usually the one who graciously organises it, or atleast just reopens the league from last year."

Re: 2016 NFL Season
"Jets finally admit they made (yet another) howling error when they drafted Christian Hackenberg in Rnd 2 in 2016 - and they've traded him to Oakland for a seventh round pick, without him ever taking an NFL snap. This from the franchise hoping to bring Darnold through as the next big QB. Let's hope their coaching/scouting staff have improved significantly and can actually provide Darnold (a very fine talent) with some guidance and insight. Jets are now on their third crop of QB/offensive coaches in three seasons. Bowles' neck is on the line this year. Another poor season, which is quite likely, and he's gone I'm sure. On the plus side, Teddy Bridgewater's knee hasn't exploded during training camp. Yet."

"Evening all Some of you may have heard the tragic news coming out from the Cambridgeshire Cats this weekend regarding one of their players. Charles Mack sadly passed away during a training session. If you would like to support his family, a crowdfunding page has been set up for people to donate. https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/c-Mack"

"..........not all get anywhere near that 2m signing fee, but the smallest bonuses are over a hundred grand. what i like is you get rewarded in that second contract if you perform well, or you can string a franchise along like cousins and nick 25m+ a year and the fuck off after two years :.)"

"first year player gets half a million dollars a year with a couple of mill signing fee. the only savage bit about is they have to earn their money, unlike 'soccer' players who are mostly stealing a living"

"I agree with the league, but to be fair, the players aren't paid that well. I reckon they're the worst treated professional sportsmen in the world. Their contracts are savage."

"completely agree with the league, the NFL is not to blame and these players get paid silly money so don't bite the hand that feeds you. If you want to demonstrate then do it some place else like outside the whitehouse or a police station"

Re: 2016 NFL Season
That rugby player is a beast. He should be a tight end with his ball skills but they'll have him on the O-line and use him as a 350 pound wrecking ball. All in a year or two.

Re: 2016 NFL Season
"Been taking a good look at the Jets' only other 'high round' pick on offense this year - Chris Herndon, tight end from Miami Uni. I like the look of this kid. He's got good hands and is agile for a TE. He runs tight routes, and has a good habit of quickly getting open before the 10 yard line. Doesn't have break-away pace, but then few TEs have that. Doesn't add much to the blocking game, either. But he looks like he has the potential to turn into a good short-field and medium-field receiving target for Darnold. It's a decent bit of thinking from Bowles and his new O/C: We have a couple of decent WRs who are quick (Anderson etc), so the coaching team are not trying to stretch the field at TE: they've opted for a safe and consistent catcher, with Darnold's check-downs in mind. The issue will be the Jets' O-line. It's still quite weak. The team still has so many weaknesses that nobody will be expecting huge things from Darnold next term. But if they can focus on the trench war in the next draft, they might start to really push on in 2020."

"hermit, I watched it to the end last night and you drafted a rugby league player from the rabbitohs. 21, 6ft 8 & 350 lbs to play on the OL. the tv panel brought him on the set for an interview and he's a man mountain but it'll may take him a year to get ready"

Takashi Miike 11:16 Sat Apr 28 Yep. The Birds have had a blinder with Goedert and also Maddox. Nipping in front of Dallas in Dallas to sign Dallas was the highlight though.

"Yeah lots of people moning about them trading picks but they got great value, they traded their second for a 4th and the bears 2nd rounder next year which should be much higher Also traded their 4th steaight up for the Lions 3rd next week"
