Sorry for another off topic.
Like a good few who'ers I have left England. All I miss really is West Ham, and BBC radio. I'll always be a Londoner. I'm not a fan of the BBC at all and I pass on any news or current affairs, but I do like the sport and speciality music like jazz, BBC 6 and Elms and Crowley on BBC London. BBC sounds will be geo blocked later this month, and i feel like I've been properly "cunted in the bastard" 

I'm sure there is some dodgy way round it, which I'll investigate but I'm gutted really, it's a bit tiring for a middle aged technophobe like me. Would be happy to pay a subscription, but it seems the move is linked to music and performance royalties and that's that. Having to move back to bethnal green would be a bit of an extreme solution

Anyone else?

If you'd happily pay for a subscription just pay for Nord VPN and go from there, it's very easy to use even to a technophobe, just choose a UK VPN and off you go, send me a message if you try it and struggle, i'll talk you through it

OK. I've got NordVPN, had it since before Covid. The BBC seem to know all their servers (I suspect I know how, but that's far too geeky for this thread)  and won't let me access their walled shit from anywhere except within the UK.

Someone mentioned the VPNs built into browsers. Probably worth a try as they're free.

The BBC has 2 main domain names - bbc.co.uk for, well, people logging in from a UK IP address, and bbc.com for the rest of the world.

I've found that if I try to use the .co.uk address from outside the UK, it automatically swaps over to the .com site, and what I can access is quite different from that on the .co.uk domain.

This may not be an issue for you unless they ask for more that an e-mail account to register for their services; they may require that you're a proven licence payer in order to use, for instance, their iPlayer app or download podcasts.

I did create a UK account when I had a Hotmail e-mail address (before Google was even considered as an alternative; some time in the late 1990s. Not bothered with them since though.

Thanks for your advice. 
Theres been a bit of an about turn as it seems all stations will be available to listen live via bbc.com. So no catch up, and the App was very handy to use. But its better than nothing.

Get the Brave browser, it has a VPN built in.

You don't need ad blockers with Brave either.

Normally I'd suggest a VPN, but the BBC are pretty swift on picking up public VPN addresses and blocking them.

Will be trying a private VPN next time I'm back in the UK - based on a Raspberry Pi and living inside someone's WiFi Network. The Pi has negligible running costs/overheads rather than having somebody keeping an old PC powered up for a similar function.

I see that many modern browsers boast VPNs now, so that may be an option to consider, or even a Firestick; you can probably sniff out one of those pre-configured to your requirements for about US$100.
