I can't see how we can ever seriously look past Savio Nsereko. He clearly was never a Footballer and were sold an absolute pup without making sure the Club did it's due diligence on the fraud footballer before parting company with £10M big ones. 

The horrible little cսnt even faked his own hostage claim so he could get thousands out of his own family! Sums the fraud up and we were mug enough as a so called top flight Professional Football Club who couldn't afford to waste much around that time. 

£10M back in 2009 remember. That's an incredible amount of money back then to spunk on someone knew fuck all about.

Despite his goal against Sevilla and the double whammy against Chelsea being notable Yarmolenko was well off the pace and largely a disappointment considering his wages and fitness issues. £18M quid for a bloke who rarely featured.

He got bombed out of Dortmund for not being fit enough to play Bundesliga so I don't know why anybody expected his body to consistently hold together in the Prem.

He was good for about 5 goals - I remember another double against Everton but that was about it.

Ashley Fletcher was shit for us but we got him on a free and sold him for £6.5m a year later. In the current regime that puts him as one of our best signings.

Hernandez scored a few goals for us, considerably more than a few expensive duds and certainly multiples more than the german cripple.

You're probably right but with Boogers for example he was only £1m, but it was almost half the transfer spend that season, so in todays world it would have been a £50m disaster.

Lets face it we've always been shit at buying players.

I found myself tremendously disappointed in the goal scoring output of ‘strikers’ Jonathan Callieri and Simone Zaza. But the list of disappointing signings is truly awful and shameful to behold.

Bit harsh on Paul Hilton and Iain DowIe. Considering he came from that heavily beaten Bury team I don't think he ever let West Ham down. Played well in that 4-0 win at Chelsea when Alvin was injured. Decent back up player. Dowie was never a goal scorer but did a decent job as a support to the likes of Cottee and always worked hard. Just unfortunate he is remembered for that cracking own goal! 

to be fair i didnt have particulary bad memories of Dowie, had a good attitude and wasnt he 'West Ham'? Only when i looked at his stats, his goal scoring record was abysmal.

He’s the only player to come with grand delusions of getting an eventual move to Man United who can’t even be bothered to put a tiny amount of effort towards showing he’s gold enough. 

He’s an absolute prick. At least Kilman tries, he’s just no good. 

Roberto is the worst player we’ve signed but given he was free, and was supposed to be a back up, on balance he doesn’t really get close to worst signing. 


 

 

Obligation loans by and large are deferred payment signings...not try before you buy. We'd already decided to buy Todibo....just couldn't pay for him.

Most likely Sullivan might just get a little 'sweetener' for taking certain players if anything, or some sort of favour with something else. As said if anything it would have to be low key low risk and off the books. There must be some sort of underlying reason why he'd reject or torpedo deals for players who go on to become very valuable, but pushes through with ones we can all see are pups from a mile off. Then again didn't he have some sort of thing where he was trying to pressure Ben Johnson and other young players to sign with certain agencies, and making contract offers according to their decisions?

Could also just be that he's an absolute fuckwit who at the same time as he thinks he's the oracle of football, certainly above our managers, puts far too much trust in friendly agents and is easy to take advantage of.

Not only that but the Danish goalkeeping coach who recommended Hermans Hermitson was part of Potter's backroom staff who also promptly got the sack before he was able to get his parking spot sorted.

We also got rid of Xavi Valero who was considered a very good GK coach  - who has now got the gig at Liverpool because he was so overrated and overpaid for what he does!

I suppose that Sullivan could effect a bung by increasing the agent fee the club pay during transfer negotiations and agreeing to split the difference with the agent. Doubtful that any of the agents Sullivan works with would go for this seeing as they make shitloads anyway and wouldn't want to get their licence revoked. Doubtful as well that a billionaire like Sullivan would commit fraud just to pocket a million or two here and there.
